On Monday 8th April we set off for West Caister with a wild camp stop over night in Thetford forest. We travelled in convoy with Sue driving the Smart car so that we had more flexibility once we got to the site. It took about 90 minutes to get to the over night stop which was a parking place for a circular walk in Thetford forest. Obviously there were no facilities so we had stopped at Sainsbury's on the way to fill the toilet flush up and stock up with drinking water and other provisions. Once we were parked up I discovered that I had left the 2nd set of keys to the motor home on top of the water filler at Sainsbury's 6 miles away so I jumped into the Smart car and, luckily they had been found and handed in. I wasn't very popular!
Once I got back to the camp we turned the gas on and Sue made a great soup-er-noodle meal. We walked 'D' in the woods and were amazed at the stars. There was no light pollution, the sky was clear. Off to bed and the noise of the silence was deafening! A few birds and the odd car along the road 100 metres away. This is the way to use the motor home properly in my opinion. No bingo, no noise, just peace. The following morning after a lovely walk in the forest where we took lots of photos we had a quick breakfast and set off, in convoy for Sycamore farm, West Caister.
