We had already had the motor home serviced before our last trip so we decided that it was time to get a new clutch fitted, CV joint gaiters, drive shaft oil seal, top front suspension mountings and all fluids replaced at Adams motors. Once all of that was done we booked into Ashridge farm again but this time we decided to take the mountain bikes and a trailer for 'D'. We set off on Friday 1st February 2019, this time we had got the motor home ready, bikes on the rack, diesel in the tank etc at lunch time so we were on the road a bit earlier. We stopped at Tesco's just the other side of Royston to stock up with supplies and got to the site at 7pm. We had pitch number 28 which cost us £36.40 for two nights. Once we were hooked up we had a Tesco Tai take away.
After a fry up in the morning we got on the bikes, stuck 'D' in the trailer and set off towards Ashwell and then Hinxworth where we found the three horse shoes and we sat by the log burner and had a couple of pints of 'Landlord'. Lovely ! We love Ashwell and the site is great as a touring site with all facilities available but we won't return to it soon as we want to find other sites. This is a perfect site as a stop over on the way through on a tour.
