We had been itching to get back on the road for ages and now, at last we were on our way to the Adventure Overland Spring show in Statford upon Avon!
We went last year and enjoyed it so much that we just had to get tickets for this year as soon as they came out.
We left our seasonal pitch and headed north up the M1, stopping at Newport Pagnell for a couple of Mochas before setting off refreshed for the final hours drive to the race course camp site. This year we opted for EHU as our Sargent EC200 system was faulty and we could not get 12 volt power to the habitation area. Andy had ordered a new EC328 PSU and universal control panel to go with it but he couldn't collect it until the day after we arrived. He ordered it from Sargent, (£570) and got it delivered to a DPD collection point in Matalan in Stratford upon Avon so that he can install it whilst we are here.
When we arrived we pitched up and got the bikes out so that we could get to Lidl for a few essentials. We stopped off at The Garrick on the way back for a pint each! Back to the van and we put D in his trailer and had a walk around the show.
It took a couple of days to get all of the stalls and exhibitors set up but the music in the Severn ciders beer tent started straight away so we donned our dancing wellies and got down.
After dancing the night away in our (Mcwellies) we squelched our way to the camper van live lounge to chill out and listen to Tom Dibbs and his band.
And now off to bed. Night night!😴
It's Saturday so it's shopping day. We got the e-bikes out and rode into Stratford on Avon along a very nice national cycle way (#53) which took us through some lovely areas and green spaces to Lidl. We didn't video the bike ride but we wish we had as it was a really nice 6 mile ride there and back.
In the evening we went back to the Severn cider beer tent to see The Brit Pop Boys (Video below). We apologise for the size of the video but we couldn't change the format! 🤬
After a great nights entertainment we sloped off to bed.
On Sunday night there was supposed to be a 'Campers talent show' but nearly all the campers had left either due to the rain and mud or because they had work on Monday so we had a quick pint in the beer tent and had an early night.
In the morning we got the van ready for the road and crossed our fingers that we would be able to get it off the wet grass! We we heading to the Stratford on Avon leisure centre car park where we planned to stay for one night and then to Warwick for a night before heading to Peterborough for the final Warners show at the east of England show ground as the land has been sold for developement!
